We may be the minority in DA (there are a lot of people here that don't live in the U.S.) but the majority spoke on Nov. 2!

pssh, there's so much anti-americanism on here because all these other little shits of countries are jealous they don't have a leader that actually gives a damn about their people and the rest of the world's population... i swear if the world had to be without america for one year, every last ass would be appreciative when it came back. most of the world market involves america- look at how much we import and export. if it wasn't for us, the world's cotton supply would almost totally rely on small places like egypt. america doesn't "bully" other nations, we try to protect them. look at what we did for germany with the nazis...look at how we helped out britian when we gave them 50 destroyers just for a lease on some naval bases... if it wasn't for america, then the world would be pretty shitty.

but you -can't- argue with these people ... they just think that they already know EVERYTHING...

 Great to find an artist on DA that supports America!

Down with Islamo-Facists!

Down with the Enemy Within, socialists and useless idiots!

(Thank God for Kerry, I was a life long Democrat before that self-serving, poodle showed me the Party's true face!)

I'm not crazy about everything Bush has done, but he doesn't wear flip flops or purple heart bandaids.

Yeah, it's a messy situation. Buy of course the people at the Department for Disease Control knew they could be reverse engineered like that. It's their job to know things like that.
~RedTeam:iconRedTeam: May 2, 2004, 7:33:17 PM
they also mentioned that the dept knew such chemicals could be reverse engineered to produce poisons. They sent them anyway. they were also sending them throughout the 80s in order to protect Iraqi soldiers who were gassing Iranians. Still no good.
~EjectGoose:iconEjectGoose: May 2, 2004, 5:56:11 PM
That sure is -- Reagan is awesome.
~EjectGoose:iconEjectGoose: May 2, 2004, 5:55:34 PM
I'm very skeptical about that. The reason being, the article claims the Center for Disease Control was the agency that sent the chemicals. They're not going to be involved in making biological and chemical weapons. It's much more likely that they were sending them antidotes needed to cure exposure to such chemicals. In order to develop and fully understand the antidotes, it's plausible that the Iraqi scientists would need actual samples of the toxin.

That's my take on it, considering that they're from the Center for Disease Control.

hey man, I can't seem to reply to the comments you left on my page. Anyway, in response to the question of whether or not the US sold Saddam chemical/bio/nuclear weapons/info etc...here is a great link: [link]

if you scroll down to the section called "western companies that helped build Iraq's weapons arsenal" there's some good info.

"According to congressional records from the early 1990s, the Reagan administration’s commerce department allowed the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and U.S. companies exported chemical and biological agents to Iraq despite suspicions that they were being used for chemical warfare. It was later discovered that these agents did indeed significantly contributed to the country’s weapons arsenal. [Sunday Herald 9/8/2002; The Times 12/31/02] Iraq was even provided with anthrax and bubonic plague viruses. [Washington Post 12/30/02] "

also see the section called "US complicity to the development of Iraq's illegal weapons programs"

Are you sure we actually SOLD him these chemicals, or did we provide him with money that he ended up using to buy them? I'd like to see some proof, if you have it.
~RedTeam:iconRedTeam: Apr 30, 2004, 5:39:10 AM
Actually we sold him a lot of actual chemicals and biological weapons for germ warfare, including anthrax and phosgene. But we did give him a lot of info on how to build things as well..
~EjectGoose:iconEjectGoose: Apr 29, 2004, 8:49:38 PM
Well, we didn't give Iraq any nukes or biological agents. Rather, we aided them with intelligence via the CIA, and provided money.
~RedTeam:iconRedTeam: Apr 29, 2004, 7:55:32 PM
"I see Saddam being the problem because he was the one that ordered the death and destruction."

Don't forget it was you guys who sold him the nice fancy weapond of mass destruction which he used on Iranian and Iraqi civilians. He wouldn't have had the capacity for death and destruction without a cosy relationship with good ol' USA. Nuclear weapons are as American as apple pie dontcha know?

Nice to see another person who's not Anti-American. I'm sick of all these "u.s. R teh nasi's taekin over teh wurld!!11 lol OMG!!111one" comments and deviations.

Yeah, you're right about the asserting and denouncing thing. They definitely go together. I see Saddam being the problem because he was the one that ordered the death and destruction. Anyway, thanks for what you said in that last line...I appreciate the compliment.
